Art museums in Paris #1. MUSÉE DE LA VIE ROMANTIQUE
The Musée de la Vie Romantique is located in the 9th arrondissement at the foot of Montmartre. Last Spring, I enjoyed an exhibition here. In the courtyard, you can also bring tea and enjoy the gardens.
Art museums in Paris #2. PICASSO MUSEUM
The art museum underwent a long remodeling and was lastly reopened in October 2014. I was in Paris and hadn’t planned to open the day, but the lines had fallen and I realized why not attempt. I didn’t wait too long and the first day after it was closed for so long it was pretty amazing to see.
Art museums in Paris #3. MUSÉE NISSIM DE CAMONDO
I have been recommended to Musée Nissim de Camando for years, but I always put it off. Last Spring I finally went and I don’t understand what it took me so long. I love the art museum’s history and it’s off the beaten track but worth a visit. Stop for a walk in front of Parc Monceau. Read Rebecca’s full post about the museum here.
Art museums in Paris #4. MUSÉE RODIN
A Left Bank classic art museum. On my first solo journey to Paris, I remained just one street over. For just one euro, you can visit the gardens, but I strongly suggest taking complete advantage of the freshly refurbished interior. This art museum can be remembered from “Midnight in Paris”
Art museums in Paris #5. MUSÉE JACQUEMART-ANDRE
Musée Jacquemart-André in the 8th district, not far from the Grand Magasins, is a personal art museum. Stop at the museum after shopping for a cultural evening. You may remember sections of this from the film, “Gigi” They also have a lovely tea room and terrace for afternoon tea to enjoy.
I strongly advise you to buy the Paris Museum Pass if you are in Paris for a restricted moment and you can schedule your visits.
Art museums in Paris #6. MUSÉE D’ORSAY
I studied high school French Impressionism, so when I came in Paris, I realized this was a target for me. I love to come back over time to see the Impressionist and discover the museum’s other components. The clock is iconic, of course, it’s the picture that started my company. Don’t forget to take some time to enjoy the tea room where you can get a coffee at the same cost as the outside terrace and enjoy the outside room and view.
